The work reported here describes the preferred habitat of the Kaibab squirrel within Grand Canyon National Park, documents annual fluctuations in.population density and in spatial distribution, examines food habits and their possible effects on the forest, summer activity patterns and home range, and other features of the life history. The study began in 1960 and ended in 1974. Although some data were collected during all seasons of the year and from the Kaibab Plateau as a whole, the great majority are based on summer observations within Grand Canyon National Park.
