Surveyed whale prey abundance in Glacier Bay & the Stephens Passage-Frederick Sound area. 1982: zooplankton higher in GB, but euphausiids more abundant in SP-FS.1981: euphausiids more abundant in GB. Prey varied annually. Sampled 3 feeding areas that varied in prey type available. Bartlett Cove (capelin), Pt. Adolphus (mixture of fish and zooplankton), and eastern Fred. Sound (euphausiids).
