The Behaviour of Larrea Divaricata (Creosote Bush) in Response to Rainfall in California

Woodell SR, Mooney HA, Hill AJ. 1969. The Behaviour of Larrea Divaricata (Creosote Bush) in Response to Rainfall in California. Journal of Ecology. 57(1):37-44

At twelve sites in California, the density and pattern of Larrea divaricata has been measured. There is a good correlation between density and the amount of rainfall. At high rainfall levels, Larrea tends to be clumped, and at low levels it is regularly spaced.
