This report discusses the recovery of mangroves after Hurricane Andrew. Study sites included Biscayne National Park, Everglades National Park, and John Pennekamp State Park. The report addresses mortality and recovery of the three species of mangroves: Avicennia germinans, Laguncularia racemosa, and Rhizophora mangle. Topics include differences among the species in mechanisms of recovery, differences among the species in mortality, and structure of recovered forests impacted by hurricanes versus those not impacted. Tables and graphs present the data.
