Application of DNA sequencing to the identification of listed spineflower species in overlapping populations: Draft final report to the US Fish and Wildlife Service

Brinegar C. 2004. Application of DNA sequencing to the identification of listed spineflower species in overlapping populations: Draft final report to the US Fish and Wildlife Service. San Jose State University. San Jose, CA

The project used DNA sequencing to distinguish between the Monterey spineflower, robust spineflower, and possible hybrids of the two in overlapping populations in the Sunset critical habitat unit in southern Santa Cruz County. Also to determine whether a robust spineflower population has been established at Point Reyes National Seashore near Abbott's Lagoon and, if so, how it relates to the more southerly populations.
