Methodology and results of dye tracing conducted at Sinking Spring on Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site in Kentucky. Dyes injected into Boundary Oak Spring and Howell Spring were traced for possible flow to Pit Spring, Howell Spring, and Sinking Spring. Results are given. One figure shows the probable boundaries of the shallow groundwater recharge area while the second one sketches the probable hydrologic flow route connections between these four springs. The appendix contains the records of these two dye traces. The results of rock grab samples of various geologic layers at Sinking Spring are identified.
