The study monitors for distribution, abundance, reproductive performance, and breeding chronology of Brandt's Cormorants, Western Gulls, Pelagic Cormorants, Pigeon Guillemots, and Black Oystercatchers. The study also assesses the extent and forms of disturbances, and assists in the development of appropriate and effective policies to protect waterbird populations on Alcatraz Island.
