In the Presidio of San Francisco, species of bees were collected and analyzed in 2005. They were collected from seven different-aged restoration sites, including two that are highly disturbed, and from two non-restored, native areas, for a total of nine sites. These sites were selected in order to quantify and monitor the change in bee diversity at different levels of land degradation. A second follow-up study was launched between 2008-2009.
