Selected Bibliography and Species List for Herpetofauna, Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River

Goode M. 2006. Selected Bibliography and Species List for Herpetofauna, Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River. School of Natural Resources, University of Arizona. Tucson, AZ

A general herpetological survey was conducted across six of the seven park units located in the Chihuahuan Desert Network (CHDN). These include Amistad National Recreation Area (NRA), Big Bend National Park (NP), Carlsbad Caverns NP, Fort Davis National Historic Site (NHS), Guadalupe Mountains NP, and White Sands National Monument (NM) (Prival and Goode 1995). However, no systematic herpetofaunal survey has been conducted on the Rio Grande Wild & Scenic River (WSR) (Fig. 1). This report was an attempt to compile literature that would be useful for focusing efforts on a field inventory and to develop a preliminary list of species likely to found on the Rio Grande WSR.
