During the plant growing seasons of 2003 and 2004, a floristic survey – an inventory orcensus of all species of vascular plants growing naturally – was conducted in Prince William Forest Park (hereinafter “PRWI” or “Park”), Prince William County, Virginia, by the Biology Department (now the Environmental Science and Policy Department) of George Mason University (GMU). The survey was performed under Cooperative Agreement 1443CA309701200, Task Agreement No. T-3097-02-400, which was administered by the Center for Urban Ecology (CUE), National Capitol Region, National Park Service. Field work in the Park was under the direction of the PRWI Natural Resources Management Office. Considerable assistance with the field work was furnished to GMU by the CUE staff, Park staff, and others; that assistance is described inAppendix A and is greatly appreciated by GMU.
