A plant is defined as invasive if it is not native to the ecosystem under consideration and if it causes or is likely to cause economic or enviromental harm or harm to human health. Human actions are the primary means of the invasive plant introduction. Invasive plants cost the United States an estimated $35 billion each year and are one of the greatest threats of the natural ecosystems of our National Parks.
