A report on the three tallest known living trees, discovered in July and August 2006, and confirmed by researchers associated with Humboldt State University. The researchers gave the trees the monikers "Helios, Icarus, and Hyperion." The trees were measured with a laser and measuring tape. The tallest tree measured 379.1 feet. The report includes methods of measurement, significance of findings, photos of upper crowns, and graphical comparisons of the "world's tallest trees."
