Supporting long-term census data are generally unavailable to support reports of declining amphibian populations. Populations fluctuate substantially in both size of breeding population and recruitment of juveniles. No overall trend was exhibited in breeding population size in three species, and a fourth population increased. Correlation with recent droughts and recruitment failures were satisfactory. Declines due to anthropogenic causes may require long-term studies.
