Summary of discussions from the joint meeting of the Herpetologist's League and the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles in August, 1990, at Tulane University. The primary cause of population decline appears to be habitat destruction. Additional factors were 1) global climatic change, 2) pollution, 3) ultraviolet radiation, and 4) habitat fragmentation. Amphibians appear to be especially vulnerable to these factors.
