DNA repair and resistance to solar radiation was assessed in the red-legged frog (Rana aurora). Activity of the photoreactivating enzyme, photolyase, was measured in R. aurora oocytes. Hatching success of eggs exposed and shielded from UV-B radiation was compared. Compared to other amphibians photolyase levels in R. aurora were found to be relatively high. Hatching success appeared to be unaffected by UV-B radiation.
