A pH/UV-B Synergism in Amphibians

Long LE, Saylor LS, Soule ME. 1995. A pH/UV-B Synergism in Amphibians. Conservation Biology. 9(5):1301-1303

Some have proposed that synergistic interactions may contribute to the decline and disappearance of amphibians. This study tested the effects of low pH and increased ultraviolet-B radiation on frog-embryo survival. When pH/UV-B synergism is present a significant decrease in embryo survival is noted.
