This study documents the nocturnal activities of amphibians on the southern Lake Michigan beach. Replenishing body water seems to be the driving factor. Feeding occurs only after the amphibian restores water lost through evaporation. Light intensity seems most closely related to amphibian appearance and disappearance on the beach.
