Wildlife mortalities associated with artificial water sources
Andrew NG, Bleich VC, Morrison AD, Lesicka LM, Cooley PJ. 2001. Wildlife mortalities associated with artificial water sources. Wildlife Society Bulletin. 29(1):275-280
This paper investigated the possible detrimental impacts of wildlife guzzlers on desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) and other nontarget organisms. Even though the desert tortoise has a wide distribution, the effects human activities may have on tortoise populations is of considerable concern to conservationists.
