During 2005, mist-netting surveys were conducted in the Valley Forge National Historical Park (NHP) to predict and detect bat communities. Five sites were mist-netted for bats during 10 nights for a total of 45 netnights (the total number of nets set up multiplied by the total number of nights) resulting in an average capture of 0.7 bats per netnight. A total of 32 bats comprised of four species were captured.
