This amendment modifies the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) land use plan for the Arizona Strip and advises management within desert tortoise habitat. There are three Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) to be managed primarily for recovery of desert tortoise: Beaver Dam Slope, Virgin Slope, and Pakoon; along with the Virgin River ACEC.
