Level 1 Baseline Water Quality Report for the Klamath Network: Lava Beds National Monument, Lassen Volcanic National Park and Oregon Caves National Monument - 2005.

Currens CR, Madej M, Ambrose HA. 2006. Level 1 Baseline Water Quality Report for the Klamath Network: Lava Beds National Monument, Lassen Volcanic National Park and Oregon Caves National Monument - 2005.. U.S. Geological Survey. Arcata, California

The report summarizes the findings from 2005 field work conducted at LABE, LAVO and ORCA by the USGS for the Klamath Network as part of the Level 1 Water Quality Inventory and Monitoring program. Samples taken from streams, lakes and cave ice (LABE only) at each of the 3 parks were analyzed for baseline level 1 parameters: alkalinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, specific conductance and temperature. Additional parameters measured for select water bodies included chloride, nitrate and total and fecal coliform. The data describe current water quality at selected sites and provide baseline water quality information needed to design programs to monitor future trends (excerpted from report's Executive Summary).
