Summary of NOAA's Townsend Cromwell cruise to the remote Pacific islands including American Samoa during January 21-March 25, 2002. Surveys conducted include terrestrial surveys of vegetation and birds, tow-diver habitat/fish surveys, plus benthic and fish REA surveys. Permanent transects were established at Rose Atoll and Swains Islands. Plans are to conduct surveys every two years.
