A bibliography of Pacific Island (including American Samoa) coral reefs sites which have been surveyed or monitored since 1997. "This draft bibliography has been compiled in conjunction with the "Pilot program in global coral reef assessment" supported by the Winslow Foundation. The bibliography includes references pertaining to Pacific Island coral reefs which have been surveyed or monitored in the past (some additional areas, such as Okinawa and Hawaii are incomplete). Three categories of references are included: (1) those with quantitative study along specific transects; (2) those with more general qualitative descriptions; and (3) those with detailed site descriptions and specific lists. The objective is to allow comparisons in the future of specific sites, water quality and sedimentation changes, and species distributions. A geographic index is appended. Comments are welcome.
