Genetic diversity in plant materials used for revegetation of disturbed sites is important to allow for the processes of natural selection and adaptation. DNA markers such as RFLP and RAPD are widely used as reliable methods to estimate genetic diversity in plants. However, costs associated with labor and supplies can be a limiting factor for using this method.
