Goodloe RB. 1991. Immunocontraception, genetic management, and demography of feral horses on four eastern US barrier islands. University of Georgia

A study to determine the genetic diversity or uniqueness of feral horse herd populations on four eastern U.S. barrier islands (Hatteras Island, Cape Hatteras National Seashore; Assateague Island National Seashore; Cumberland Island National Seashore; and Shackleford Banks, Cape Lookout National Seashore). Blood samples were taken to determine genetic composition, and the effectiveness of two potential immunocontraception vaccines and delivery methods were evaluated. Includes recommendations for horse herd management.
