Habitat degradation and the introduction of exotic species are endangering an increasing number of fishes and other aquatic organisms in the desert areas of North America. At risk species are identified with habitat information. A discussion of these ecosystems and their vanishing fishes, amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates are provided.
