Repetive sequences will play an increasingly greater role in future attempts to understand the structure and differentiation of fish populations. Three examples of the use of repetitive sequencing for fish genomes are presented: Cyprinodon variegatus, Rivulus marmoratus, and Morone saxatilis. The data argue that the analyses of various kinds of repetitive sequences will play an increasingly greater role in future attempts to understand the structure and differentiation of fish populations.
