Fish resembling Shoshone pupfish (Cyprinodon nevadensis shoshone) were oberved and collected from the outflow of Shoshone Spring. Because the pupfish were threatened by habitat alteration, the fish were collected and transported to the laboratory at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for propogation. Reproduction of the Shoshone pupfish (Cyprinodon nevadensis shoshone) in laboratory refugia. This species was considered probably extinct in 1969. Several fish of this subspecies were seen and collected at an outflow of the spring in 1988. These fish were then allowed to reproduce with a success rate of ~80% reaching juvenile size.
