The Water Resources Division carries out a broad-based water resources program involving leadership in a variety of activities in the areas of water rights; water quality; floodplain management; ground water analysis; watershed and wetlands protection; water resources management planning; fisheries management; policy, legislative, and regulatory analysis; information management; and training. The Division's workplan is developed from an annual call to the field to identify park needs which in turn determines WRD priorities. In addition to national program responsibilities, the Division provides day-to-day support to parks, support offices, regional offices, and the Washington Office (WASO) in addressing water resources issues and concerns facing NPS.
