Houses and Fields, Kivas and Shrines: The Anasazi Landscape of Bandelier National Monument

This paper will focus on three main aspects of the Puebloan landscape within Bandelier: on use of the landscape for habitation, for agriculture, and for ritual activities. Changes in landscape use are related to overarching trends in population and aggregation, and in order to examine these changes it is first necessary to outline the basics of the site typology, site dating, and population estimates used by the Bandelier survey.
