The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is now completing the fifth year of releases of California condors (Gymnogyps califonianus) in northern Arizona. This reintroduction was conducted under a special provision of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) that allows for the designation of a "nonessential experimental" population. This report evaluated the progress of the condor reintroduction program in northern Arizona and compliance with commitments established for this program.
