This document is the second annual report on the status of the southwestern ecological restoration project at the Mt. Trumbull, AZ. Detailed sections on the ecosystem monitoring plot progress, the fire history studies, the passerine bird studies, and other ongoing and initial research projects follow. Because most of the data collected in the 1997 field season is still being analyzed, the document serves primarily to present a summary of the work accomplished.
