Presents recreational use of high-use pullout areas/viewpoints along Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park: Avalanche, Logan Pass, Lake McDonald Lodge, and Sun Point. The report summarizes phase two (of 3) efforts from 2006 research. The larger work seeks to: (1) provide baseline information that will allow park managers to mitigate impacts to visitor experiences, park values and key biophysical attributes; and (2) establish an understanding of how the implementation of an intelligent transportation system influences visitor behavior and experiences, and levels and patterns of use.
