Researchers quantified historical fire regimes, climate forcing events, plant population dynamics, and fuel abundance and distribution patterns in a study area that straddled the US-Mexico border, and included Big Bend National Park, and the Davis Mountain Preserves of the Nature Conservancy in Texas, and the Maderas del Carmen Protected Area in Coahuila, Mexico.
