Decreasing aridity was found to have three major effects on corticolous lichens in Navajo National Monument and Zion National Park. 1. In dry habitats lichens were mostly found on north exposures of host trees, while in mesic habitats they occurred on all exposures. 2. Species diversity increased in more mesic habitats. 3.
