This document was compiled in the course of developing a standard operating procedure for the use of roads data as an indicator of landscape change in the PACN network. This document contains literature references on the following topics: performing accuracy assessments of road datasets, validation or creation of road data via remote sensing input, methodology for use of roads data in ecological studies, and literature on the ecological impacts of roads and habitat fragmentation. Some references have been entered individually into Nature Bib. This bibliography may be useful for studies of landscape dynamics and the use of roads data. Following the list of citations, there is a short review of selected references, with a focus on methodology for accuracy assessments.
