GPS TIGER Accuracy Analysis Tools (GTAAT) Evaluation and Test Results.

Liadis JS. 2000. GPS TIGER Accuracy Analysis Tools (GTAAT) Evaluation and Test Results.. U.S. Census Bureau, TIGER Operations Branch, Geography Division.

Objective: assess the spatial accuracy of the TIGER data base. A variety of update operations regularly feed into the TIGER data base through partnerships which all vary in data collection methodology, and overall spatial accuracy. The result is that coordinate accuracy in TIGER varies greatly by update operation and geography. It was concluded that positional accuracy was better for the 1990 TIGER than 2000, due to relaxed standards and methodology for updates.
