"The primary objectives of this investigation were to determine if large wild canids were present on the Prospect Ranger District of the Rogue River National Forest and/or in adjacent areas. Secondary objectives were to determine a rough estimate of the numbers, distribution, movements and prey utilized by any such animals. Additional data that could aid in any future determination of wolf/non-wolf status was collected whenever possible, although it was not the intent of this study to attempt such a determination based on the data collected. Tertiary objectives were to provide a foundation for any future studies of large wild canids in this general area."
