This Record of Decision (ROD) approves, with minor modifications, the Proposed Northern and Eastern Mojave Desert Management Plan (NEMO), an amendment of the 1980 Bureau of Land Management California Desert Conservation Area (CDCA) Plan. The minor modifications from the Proposed Plan include changes in format, wording, and other minor corrections to improve clarity. This plan was prepared under the regulations implementing the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (FLPMA). An environmental impact statement was prepared for the NEMO Plan in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969. The Proposed Northern and Eastern Mojave Desert Management Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement was published in August 2002, and is available on BLM’s web site at http://www.ca.blm.gov.
