Influence of the subducting slab on partial melting of wedge peridotites in the generation of calc-alkaline lavas from the southernmost Cascades

Primitive lavas of the Lassen region result from peridotite, subducted slab, and sediment components, with minimal involvement of continental crust. A complex interplay between the slab componenet and associated variations of the partial melting of the peridotite component plays a key role in geochemical and isotopic differences observed in the Lassen lava.
