FIIS identified 13 locations in Great South Bay to monitor for Total and Fecal Coliform, Chlorophyll-a, Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Nitrates, pH, Phosphates, Salinity, Turbidity, and Temperature. These parameters are critical in determining long-term water quality conditions Park-wide. Methodology for monitoring parameters are provided by National Park Service (NPS) Director's Order #83 (National Park Service 1999), and the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater.
