This annual report for 2006 summarizes the background, objectives, methods and preliminary results based on data from 3 years of a long term cooperative project to monitor the status and trend of Whitebark pine in the Greater Yellowstone Area. Caution is warranted in interpreting and using these preliminary results because initial data from all plots in the full ecosystem sample will not be collected until late 2007.
