A three-year survey of diatom biodiversity in Glacier National Park (Bahls & Weber 2005) was initiated during the 2007 field season. Supplemented by historic records from 1976-2006, the survey will produce a checklist of diatom species from Glacier National Park with photographic documentation of voucher specimens. The distribution of species throughout the Park and their relative abundance in various habitats will also be recorded. This report summarizes year 1 (2007) findings from the study.
