Fort Necessity National Battlefield was surveyed for shrubland birds during the 2005 breedingseason. Shrublands that include mixed damp,dry successional and upland shrubby successional habitats support breeding bird communities and are representative of successional habitats within the mountains of southwestern Pennsylvania. Given the current habitat conditions and management activities, this report presents recommendations to provide the most immediate benefits for breeding shrubland birds in Fort Necessity National Battlefield.
