In this study an intensely yellow material on the ceiling of the Snowball Dining Room of Mammoth Cave National Park was studied using a range of light and electron microscopes with their compositions being inferred by energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry. The purpose of the study was to characterize the composition of the yellow material.
