A five-year investigation of the impact of fire on beetle communities in Glacier National Park. Investigators studied beetle communities in 3 different habitats in the North Fork area of Glacier - old growth, lodgepole pine, and wet meadows - for 5 years following the Red Bench fire of 1988. Plots were stratified by burn level (hard burn, light burn, or unburned) and data were collected one week per month during the warm season. The resulting dataset contains 31,579 individual observations of 557 species.
