Guam is the largest island in the Mariana arc. It is built upon a basement composed of primitive submarine boninite flows and volcaniclastics comprising the Facpi Formation of late Eocene age and younger submarine calc-alkaline volcaniclastics, the Alutom Formation, of early to middle Oligocene age....A two-day carbonate field trip around Guam is included in this report. Fourteen stops are sequenced to illustrate a representative sampling of depositional facies.
