The overall goals of this study are to provide information to the CNMI government to help them assess the volcanic safety of the northern islands. Furthermore, an integrated science approach including specialists in volcanology, hydrology and biology (between Geologic Division, Water Resources Division and Biologic Resources Division) was embarked with a primary focus on Pagan island to assess water resources, volcanic hazards and biologic resources of the island.
