Convention notes describe invasive alien species and how they impact island ecosystems all over the world. Many case studies are mentioned, especially for the Hawaiian Islands. The vulnerability of island systems and species to alien species invasions as well as their impacts and the responses of agencies to control the invaders are included. Annexes include: factors that influence the risk of introduction of invasives, likely pathways of alien species, risks of small island developing states, how biodiversity can be affected, and resources for preventing and mitigating alien species impacts.
