Just what does it mean to move at a glacial pace in Kenai Fjords National Park? With the help of a radio transmitter and 12 years of data, park staff are able to better define and quantify the term. On average, the observed flow rate of ice at Exit Glacier has been approximately 10 inches per day (306 feet/year) between 1995–2007. During this same period, the terminus of Exit Glacier has retreated in excess of 450 feet (over 37 feet/year).
